Meet the Team: Get to Know Veterinary Nurse – Gracie Clark
Behind every great veterinary clinic is a team of passionate people who genuinely care about animals and the families who love them. We sat down with Gracie to learn more about what inspired her to join the veterinary industry, the pets they share their life with, and what they enjoy most about working in our community.
What inspired you to work in the veterinary industry?
In my teenage years, I really connected with animals. In particular, my 2 cats at the time. I felt a sense of love and safety being around them when I was at the age of working out what the world was like. I knew I could always count on my animals being there when I got home – no matter the day I’ve had.
That’s something that I continue to feel everyday – lucky to be able to come home to my animals at the end of each day.
This is what encouraged me the most to go into the animal industry – to help animals so their owners are able to come home to them too.
Do you have any pets?
I have 2 tabby cats! Their names are Mister Piggy and Guzzle. I also have a Dalmatian named Cash. Our family pet is a German Shepherd named Marley. I love them all to bits!
What do you love most about working in this community?
Anyone who knows me will know I love a chat! So when I am asked this, I instantly think about the relationships I make with clients from working in this industry. I love seeing them out on the streets or at the beach and being able to say hello or recognise their pet! It’s a very rewarding part of the job for me to be able to form relationships with clients and their special pets.
What’s one piece of advice you wish every pet owner knew?
Having a pet is so special – It is so rewarding and loving. But along with having a pet comes great responsibility and often high costs – sometimes this truth gets lost in the cute and furry feeling of having a pet.
Do you have a favourite animal? What and why?
I really do love all animals – I don’t think I can choose! They are all so different! I’ve always loved going to zoos and just looking at all the different animals.
I’ve always had dogs and cats, so I will say they are my favourites.
